Full details.

For the Heritage Open Days Central Tramway will be opening the doors to its Victorian engine room, an area usually closed to the public. You will discover the marvellous machinery, and exciting engineering that work to carry almost half a million visitors every year.

On the  45 minute tour you’ll explore the mechanical innovations and new technology that have brought the Central Tramway into the 21st century, as well as the original engineering and rich history of the cliff railway.

At the end of the tour there will be an opportunity to ask questions and take a free return ride.

Tours are limited to 12 people and places must be booked in advance at centraltramwaycompany@gmail.com.

Please note: the engine room is located down a flight of stairs and is therefore not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
