THE COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON THE 8TH OF JULY.  THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

Summer means competition time at Central Tramway!

This year to celebrate our reopening and the Queen's Jubilee we're inviting children in our area to get creative with colour and create their own piece of art inspired by the Central Tramway and the South Bay.

There will be 3 top prizes and 6 runner up prizes.

3 top winners will each receive a £50 book token, a family pass for the Central Tramway for the summer holidays (23rd July – 1st September), and a day pass for Scarborough Castle.
6 runner up prizes (£10 book token, a 1 day family travel pass for the tramway  + Tom and the Tram book).

Local artist, Tess Willoughby will be helping to judge the winning entries which will be on display at The Seastrand (formerly the lower station of the St Nicholas Cliff Lift) over the summer holidays (23rd July-!st September).

THE IMPORTANT BIT...

Children are invited to draw a picture of either Scarborough’s South Bay (including the Tramway) or just the Tramway from any time during our 140 year history. Visit our history page to learn more: www.centraltramway.co.uk/history.

Have fun exploring Scarborough’s history and use your imagination. You could include characters from the past. You might even show the Queen visiting Scarborough.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on the 22nd of June with winners being announced on the 8th of July

Entries must be delivered to: Art Competition, Central Tramway Company, Upper Station, Marine Parade, St Nicholas Street, YO11 2ER, or email high resolution images to centraltramwaycompany@gmail.com by 5pm on the 22nd of June along with the child’s name, age, and contact details (phone and email) for either the school/teacher or a parent/guardian so we can notify the winners.
