Central Tramway has been serving visitors and locals in Scarborough for 140 years. Safety continues to be at the forefront of the business.

 

Our team is committed to keeping our passengers and staff safe and are working in line with current government guidance regarding Covid-19.

We are taking the following measures to maintain the highest standards at Central Tramway.

​

• FACE COVERINGS FOR PASSENGERS. We recommend all passengers wear a face covering if they are able to when travelling.

• SOCIAL DISTANCING. Central Tramway is adhering to current government guidelines on safe distancing.

• REDUCING OUR CAPACITY. The carriages continue to carry fewer passengers during this time, this is for your safety so please be patient whilst waiting for the next available carriage. 

• SIGNS/ FLOOR MARKINGS. We are ensuring directions and traffic flow is clear and easy to follow .

• CLEANING REGIMES. Strict and thorough cleaning at regular intervals throughout the day. 

• USE OF PPE. Staff will be wearing essential protective equipment.

• TEMPERATURE CHECKS FOR STAFF. This is an additional safety measure when staff begin work each morning.

• STAFF HAND-WASHING. Staff will maintain strict hygiene standards during this time.

• STAFF TRAINING. Ensuring all our team are up to date with current guidelines.
